Manchester United have discussed a move for Crystal Palace wide man Michael Olise – but now face competition from Liverpool for his signature.
Ineos are on board at Old Trafford and their influence is already starting to shine through.
We have already covered reports that Ineos have stepped in to add a buy-back clause into Hannibal Mejbri’s loan move to Sevilla.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co will surely bring in a whole new recruitment team but already appear to have ideas of their own.
That includes securing the possibility of Hannibal’s return and a real interest in bringing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise to Old Trafford…
Manchester United have already discussed Michael Olise move
Those original reports indicated that Ineos had picked out Olise as a priority transfer target for the end of the season.
There is a release clause in Olise’s contract which can be activated in the summer, but United may now try and get a little creative.
ESPN now report that United have already held discussions over a move to bring Olise to Manchester.
One idea is for United to use Aaron Wan-Bissaka in part-exchange for Olise as United attempt to bring down the price tag.
Palace sold Wan-Bissaka to United in 2019 but he could now be offered a return to Selhurst Park as United attempt to snap up Olise.
The report does though highlight that not everybody inside United is entirely convinced about a move to Olise.
There are concerns that the move from Palace to United is too tricky with Wan-Bissaka and Wilfried Zaha failing to live up to expectations after making that move.

United face major competition for Olise
It’s stated that United aren’t alone in the race to sign Olise.
Chelsea and bitter rivals Liverpool are also showing an interest in the French Under-21 international, likely with the summer transfer window in mind.
Liverpool will be looking at a number of left-footed, right-sided wingers with Mohamed Salah wanted in Saudi Arabia.
Olise could fit the bill for Liverpool and that leaves United potentially facing a major battle for his signature.
The 22-year-old has hit five goals in just nine Premier League games this season, once again proving that he is a ‘special talent’ just as Patrick Vieira suggested in 2022.
Throwing Wan-Bissaka into the deal could make United favourites but Ineos need to be ready for a real battle in the race for his signature.
