Ineos already want to bring £100k-a-week winger to Manchester United

Manchester United are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise as one of the first signing for the Ineos era.

United may be quiet in this month’s transfer window but a big summer could be on the horizon.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has purchased a 25% stake in United and the deal should be ratified in the coming weeks.

Ratcliffe will seize control of United’s football operations and no doubt bring in new recruitment staff to try and take United forward.

United’s new approach will hopefully lead to more impressive work in the transfer market – and one early target is now emerging…

Manchester United interested in Michael Olise amid release clause

The London Evening Standard report that United are now eyeing up Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise.

The Eagles wide man is understood to be one of the first early targets for Ineos.

It’s stated that January deal has been ‘ruled out’ but Ineos are already planning to try and bring Olise to Old Trafford in the summer.

Olise allegedly has a summer release clause in his £100,000-a-week deal at Palace, and it’s worth much more than the previous £35million exit clause in his deal.

The exact figure is unclear but United view Olise as a major attacking addition and could cough up the cash to bring him up to Manchester.

Olise has been hailed as an ‘outstanding’ player by boss Roy Hodgson and has dazzled with five goals in nine Premier League games this season.

Antony under pressure as Ratcliffe homegrown approach takes shape

United splashed big money on a right winger in 2022, luring Antony away from Ajax.

Erik ten Hag seemed convinced that the Brazilian would make a big impact but the reunion hasn’t really worked out.

Antony hasn’t managed a single goal or assist this season and there are major doubts about his ability to make a difference at the highest level.

The pressure is now on Antony to perform with United seemingly already looking to land Olise to potentially take his spot on the right flank.

The 22-year-old is a tricky wide man with proven end product in the Premier League and fits into Ratcliffe’s plan to go for homegrown players.

Reports in December indicated that Ratcliffe would focus on landing homegrown players and London-born Olise – who spent time in the ranks of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City before emerging with Reading – would suit those plans.

A French Under-21 International, Olise could still choose to play for England and would represent a major start to the Ineos era if a summer move can be thrashed out.
