Manchester United are active in the transfer market, trying to generate funds for new signings.

After welcoming two players with valuable Premier League experience to Old Trafford, Manchester United are planning to add more new signings to Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

Having spent the majority of the transfer kitty on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, United are now working towards finding new clubs for players they wish to move on.

Five players were told not to return for pre-season preparations this summer, including Marcus Rashford, who has since joined Barcelona on loan. That means Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have been left with uncertain futures at the club.

Amorim has not ruled out the possibility of a return for his outcasts, but that will depend on whether they fail to find a new club before the new season. That is why we will be keeping a close eye on what happens to United’s unwanted quartet over the coming weeks.

Man Utd explore swap deals with Aston Villa and Chelsea

As we approach August, United will want to push several players closer to their exits.

That is why United have been in discussions with both Aston Villa and Chelsea about Garnacho.

The Independent believe United have approached these clubs because they are keen on players such as Nicolas Jackson and Ollie Watkins. It is explained that Ineos are trying to find innovative solutions to multiple transfer issues this summer.

That is because Amorim still has multiple areas in the team he wants to improve before the start of the season, including the goalkeeper and an athletic number-six.

Chelsea have been interested in Garnacho for a long time, and it is understood that the Argentine international wants to remain in the Premier League.

Now, it’s a matter of finding the right price for the right player. United, Chelsea and Villa are all in the same boat when it comes to that.

Chelsea value Alejandro Garnacho at £30m

Earlier reports suggested that United want at least £40m for Garnacho this summer.

However, Chelsea don’t think the young forward is worth that much, meaning there could be a hurdle to overcome in negotiations.

Garnacho’s sale would help United in terms of PSR, considering his sale would generate pure profit after emerging from United’s academy.

The Independent add that Chelsea’s hierarchy value Jackson at £80m and they don’t want to pay more than £30m for Garnacho’s signature.

It remains to be seen how firm United will stand on their valuation of Garnacho.

Most will consider Chelsea’s valuation of Garnacho as baffling, and it would suggest they aren’t seriously keen on signing the player. United’s valuation suggests he is already available at a cut price.
