Manchester United have approached highly-rated Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
A busy summer awaits Manchester United as Ineos plans to improve Ruben Amorim’s squad ahead of the 2025/26 season.
On the back of a turbulent season, Amorim has plenty of areas he will want to improve in the team, such as the attacking department.
Several players face uncertain futures, and more transfer targets are emerging by the week.
United have been linked with some goalkeepers too, including Brighton stopper Carl Rushworth.
While Andre Onana has had another difficult campaign at Old Trafford, Altay Bayindir could leave the club in search of regular football ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
United veteran Tom Heaton will also leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. The third-choice keeper has failed to make a single appearance this season and is deemed surplus to requirements.

Manchester united consider move for Joan Garcia
There is never a shortage of transfer targets at Manchester United.
Although a goalkeeper is not thought to be a priority at United this summer, the Red Devils are keeping an eye on several options in the market.
According to Cope, United have taken steps to sign Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia after contacting the player’s entourage over a potential deal on Sunday.
Onana’s mixed performance could lead to United adding competition to the squad for the Cameroon international, especially if Bayindir leaves at the end of the season.
The report adds that Garcia has a €25m (£21.3m) release clause, which will rise to €30m (£25.6m) for the last 15 days of the window, and it will increase by an additional €5m (£4.2m) if he were to make his debut for Spain.
Garcia has been compared to lker Casillas also attracted interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid.
Espanyol open to offers for Joan Garcia
La Liga outfit Espanyol are anticipating widespread interest in theit goalkeeper this summer.
So much that sporting director Fran Garagarza claims Garca could change clubs if the right offer is made.
“There’s a lot of noise, but nothing is happening,” Garagarza said, as relayed by Sport via Sport Witness.
“There’s no firm movement like there was in the previous [summer] wundow. There may be movements because he’s a top-level goalkeeper, but we’re clam, and most importantly, the kid is very calm.”
