Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos have had a rude awakening after one first-team Manchester United player under Ruben Amorim has lost significant transfer value.

Both Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have been under immense pressure to back Ruben Amorim in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils’ poor 2024-25 season.

Manchester United endured their worst finish in the Premier League era, with the Red Devils left languishing in 15th place under former Sporting CP boss Amorim.

The Red Devils also missed out on further financial incentives in the 2024-25 campaign after United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in the Europa League final in May.

United’s defeat to Spurs resulted in them missing out on a £5m fee for winning the Europa League and a further £21m by securing a place in the Champions League.

Ratcliffe, who became United co-owner after he captured a minority stake in 2023, has previously warned about the financial woes facing the cash-strapped Red Devils.

Alejandro Garnacho’s transfer market price revealed amid Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos looking to sell Ruben Amorim’s Man Utd player

Alejandro Garnacho is expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer and Manchester United were keen to secure a hefty transfer fee for the wantaway Red Devils winger.

United would benefit from pure profits from the sale of Alejandro Garnacho under the Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR) currently in place.

Garnacho rose through the United youth academy as a player and the Red Devils are keen to extract as much of a transfer fee as possible for the Spain-born attacker.

However, The Daily Telegraph has now revealed how much the United winger’s transfer value has fallen after Garnacho’s fractured relationship with Ruben Amorim.

The newspaper claimed that Garnacho was the ‘subject of bids’ from both Napoli and Chelsea in January and he had ‘been initially valued at between £60m and £70m.’

However, the publication now reports that rival clubs now see the Argentina international worth ‘around £40m’ and believe he could be ‘snared’ for that value.

The transfer interest in Alejandro Garnacho continues amid the Man Utd star’s current situation at Old Trafford under Ruben Amorim

Alejandro Garnacho was critical of Amorim after the former Sporting CP head coach dropped him to the bench for United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.

Amorim was ruthless with Garnacho after the Europa League final back in May and the United manager told the Argentina winger to look for a new club this summer.

Garnacho inked his last United contract in 2023 and the Red Devils talent is tied down to Old Trafford until 2028 in his current deal with the Premier League club.

The United attacker’s situation at Old Trafford has sparked interest from clubs in Europe, including both Chelsea and Napoli being linked with Garnacho again.

According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham are ‘all monitoring his situation’ amid Garnacho’s presence becoming ‘increasingly untenable’ at United.
