Man United ‘very keen’ on right-back signing, star’s contract delay may well have an impact on this

Manchester United are said to be very keen on signing Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey after he impressed at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have been linked with the right-back previously after a report from Fotospor said Manchester United were interested.

Well, despite his, Sporx have said that the Red Devils are very keen on the Frenchman and the defender’s exit from Turkey is deemed very likely.

There is another aspect to this deal that may well mean it is likely to happen and that is the future of Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Wan Bissaka’s future

The English defender’s contract situation has reportedly stalled according to the Daily Mail so this could well be the reason behind United’s insistence on the Frenchman.

Wan-Bissaka has 12 months left on his current contract although there is an option to extend the defender’s contract by a further year.

United are set to exercise this option in the right-back’s deal as talks over a new deal have stalled.

This may be why the club have been linked with a move for Boey but the defender’s contract situation may be a sticking point for the Red Devils.

Boey’s situation

The Frenchman’s deal runs out in 2025 and if he doesn’t leave the Istanbul club in January, the report says his exit is ‘considered highly likely’ after this season and for a ‘high fee’.

Sporx doesn’t mention what constitutes a high price for Boey next summer when he’ll have a year left on his deal.

United reportedly were heavily watching his performances and the defender impressed against a struggling Marcus Rashford.

If Wan-Bissaka does leave the club then Boey may well be the man who replaces the former Crystal Palace right-back.

Arsenal also have Boey high on their target list according to Haberler and they claim that they will have a ‘face-off’ with Manchester United to secure his services.
