Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Donyell Malen but only on one condition, according to reports.
Erik ten Hag looks to be keen on entering the winter transfer market to attempt to recruit a forward as Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles in the Premier League continue.
Anthony Martial has come in for some heavy criticism over the past few days following his poor performance against Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
A new backup striker may well be targeted either in the January window or in the off-season as Martial’s future at Old Trafford remains uncertain with the Frenchman’s contract set to expire in the summer.

Malen chance
Well, one player who may well be on his way to Old Trafford is Borussia Dortmund forward Donyell Malen, but the Dutch striker will only join the club if Jadon Sancho leaves United.
Sancho’s future at Old Trafford looks to be heading one way with Juventus keen on attempting to strike a deal in January.
Interestingly, the Borussia Dortmund winger Malen recently signed for agency SEG, the firm that oversaw Ten Hag’s switch from Ajax to the Red Devils.
Dortmund, according to the report from FootballTransfers, are willing to let go of the Dutchman in January and hold a tentative interest in Sancho and this could be key to getting the deal over the line.
As well as this, the report goes on to state that there is concern from some at Old Trafford over SEG’s influence within the club as Sofyan Amrabat and Hojlund are also a part of this firm.
Ten Hag’s influence
One of the major concerns from the fanbase is that Ten Hag has way too much influence on the transfer decisions that have been made at Old Trafford.
The signings that United have made over the past two summers have been majorly influenced by Ten Hag with four players formerly of Ajax and another who has played for him at FC Utrecht being brought in.
If Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos’ takeover of the club is ratified soon, and they choose to back the Dutchman, a director of football is vital.
Someone who can come in and question the Dutchman’s decisions is crucial and the hope will be that this appointment will be made sooner rather than later.
