Man United are leading race for Ty Livesey, wonderkid is matching JJ Gabriel’s meteoric rise

Manchester United are extremely excited about JJ Gabriel’s progress in the academy and he could soon be joined at Carrington by another wonderkid.

Despite being just 14 years old at the start of the season, JJ Gabriel won the Premier League U18s Player of the Year after a sensational breakthrough campaign.

Gabriel was the top scorer in the U18s league and the only reason why Gabriel can’t play U21s is because of his age.

The same can be said for Blackburn Rovers prodigy Ty Livesey, who at 15 years old is right alongside Gabriel in terms of potential and promise.

Manchester United battling for Ty Livesey signing

According to TeamTalk, United are in the race to try and bring Livesey into their academy setup, but there is fierce competition from five other clubs, including Manchester City.

The report points out that Livesey has staggeringly registered more than 100 goal contributions across Blackburn’s academy setup in a single season.

Like Gabriel, Livesey made his debut for Blackburn’s Under-18 side when he was just 14 years old.

Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are also tracking the teenage sensation, but United have one advantage in their back pocket.

Why Man United hold ace card for Ty Livesey

Ineos have made a habit of chasing the country’s brightest talents and bringing them to Carrington, and Livesey now has the opportunity to be the next arrival.

Not only do United have one of the best academy setups, but the Red Devils can also offer Livesey the chance to play closer to home.

Livesey was born in Salford, meaning United was local to him growing up.

The TeamTalk report claims this is one factor that is helping United to lead the race for his signature. The report claims that “Livesey remains focused on his football” for now, but interest in his signature is reaching “unprecedented” levels.
