Manchester United are pushing to conclude a deal for Lille centre-back Leny Yoro.

Leny Yoro is closing in on his transfer to Manchester United after being won over by the Red Devils.

Yoro is set to undergo a medical and he will become the club’s second signing of the summer after forward Joshua Zirkzee.

United are set to pay £52 million to sign Yoro, a fee which includes add-ons. The deal is made easier by Yoro being in the final year of his contract.

Leny Yoro contract at Manchester United

According to Fabrizio Romano, Leny Yoro is set to sign a five-year contract with the Red Devils.

The deal will run to June 2029, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

The news was welcomed by Rio Ferdinand, with the former Manchester United centre-back responding to Romano’s message.

Ferdinand left a ‘wink’ emoji and eyes emoji after hearing Yoro is set to sign with Manchester United.

Earlier this week Ferdinand had urged Yoro to pen a deal with United and snub Real Madrid.

Speaking on FIVE, Ferdinand said: “I would love him to go to Man United. I would love him to go to Man United. If you are looking, Leny Yoro, please accept Man United, please. Man United, please make the offer and please accept.”

Leny Yoro move is a statement from Manchester United

Beating Real Madrid to sign one of the stars of the future is a major statement from Manchester United.

It is a feather in the cap of new investors Ineos, who are looking to turn Manchester United’s reputation in the transfer market around.

Yoro, 18, is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Europe, and he can have a big impact at Old Trafford.

United are looking for a replacement for Raphael Varane, who left the club as a free agent at the end of June.

Turning to a player who could be Varane’s international successor is quite the move.
