Dutch legend Willem van Hanegem is expressing his concerns over Justin Bijlow as Premier League giants Manchester United turn to the Feyenoord goalkeeper.
There have been some mixed messages surrounding Manchester United’s interest in the Eredivisie-winning shot-stopper.
According to The Mirror, Justin Bijlow has been lined up as a more affordable alternative should United’s supposed Financial Fair Play issues ki-bosh a move for Inter Milan’s Andre Onana. Rotterdam-based publication 1908, however, see things differently.
They believe that it could be a case of Onana and Bijlow, rather than Onana or Bijlow. The latter could arrive as a back-up option at Old Trafford, presuming both David de Gea and Dean Henderson depart.
Which report proves to be the right one, only time will tell.

Feyenoord’s Justin Bijlow a Manchester United target
Bijlow shone as Feyenoord secured only their second Eredivisie title this century last season. His performances at international level, however, have left a lot to be desired.
Van Hanegem wants Bijlow to get back to basics. The 25-year-old, he says, is becoming so obssessed with ‘playing football’ that he has forgotten about the thing that matters most; keeping the ball out the back of his net.
“Look, he is by far the best keeper we have,” Van Hanegem tells the AD Willem & Wessel podcast, Bijlow conceding seven goals in two games as the Netherlands finished fourth in the UEFA Nations League, losing to both Croatia and Italy last month.
“But he is now only concerned with ‘how can I play football’. Before he got injured, he was much less concerned with that. Almost never. Now, he wants to show (everything he has), but it’s not necessary at all.
“I just thought he was very bad at goalkeeping with the Dutch national team. For him, it was blunders. You have to be honest. If he doesn’t keep (the goal) well, he’s not good.”
The Athletic believe that Feyenoord are likely to demand £20 million for Bijlow. Ten Hag’s number one target remains Onana, however, with Inter Milan’s CEO Beppe Marotta confirming on Friday that United do have a very real interest in the former Ajax glovesman.
