Manchester United are among a list of top European clubs monitoring Hertha Berlin starlet Kennet Eichhorn.

Scouts at Manchester United will be busy identifying potential transfer targets over the coming months.

The Red Devils opted not to sign any new players in the January transfer window, which means the focus is on the summer market.

Ineos have prioritised the search for young talent since arriving at Old Trafford at the beginning of 2024. That has been evident with deals involving Leny Yoro, Sekou Kone, and Patrick Dorgu.

United already have a deal agreed to sign Cristian Orozco, with the Colombian youngster set to move to Manchester in the summer after turning 18.

There are also youngsters in Europe attracting United’s attention.

In November 2025, Hertha Berlin prospect Kennet Eichhorn emerged as a United target.

The 16-year-old has continued to shine in the German second division since then.

Man Utd target Kennet Eichhorn is wanted by Europe’s elite clubs

Hertha Berlin wonderkid Eichhorn will have no shortage of suitors if he decides to leave the German club this summer.

Eichhorn, 16, has been the breakthrough star of the current 2. Bundesliga season after becoming a regular starter in the Hertha Berlin side.

The young, combative midfielder has made 15 appearances since breaking into the team. There has been constant speculation about a big move in the summer ever since.

Although he is currently ruled out of action with an ankle injury, Eichhorn remains a mainstay in the gossip columns.

A new report from German outlet Bild names United as a potential suitor – on the same list as La Liga duo Real Madrid and Barcelona, plus Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.

The other clubs reportedly keen on Eichhorn are Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, and RB Leipzig.

It remains to be seen how serious United are about signing the German youngster, who Bild say will decide on his future at the end of the current campaign.

Kennet Eichhorn key facts

Kennet Eichhorn position

Eichhorn has made all of his appearances for Hertha Berlin this season in central midfield. His defensive traits mean he could potentially add depth to United’s midfield department.

With Casemiro leaving Old Trafford in the summer, Eichhorn is too inexperienced to be a readymade replacement. It’s still early days in his development as a professional footballer, and he has yet to play at the highest level.

It’s a positive sign that United are eyeing players of this profile in the upcoming transfer window.

Kennet Eichhorn milestones

Eichhorn made his professional debut for Hertha Berlin on August 10, 2025, in a scoreless draw against Karlsruher SC.

It was the second matchday of the 2. Bundesliga season and he was just 16 years and 14 days old, making him the youngest ever player to feature in the second tier of German football.

He also scored his first professional goal on December 2, 2025, during a 6-1 victory over FC Kaiserslautern in the third round of the DFB-Pokal.

Eichhorn has previously captained the Germany U17 national team.
