Jadon Sancho faces Manchester United wait if loan plan is true

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho may be waiting a while if he plans to outlast Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United will sadly go down as one of the club’s biggest disappointments in recent times.

United spent so long chasing Sancho and finally struck a £73million deal to sign him from Borussia Dortmund in 2021.

Sancho racked up 50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games for Dortmund, so it was difficult to find a United fan who wasn’t excited about this transfer.

Sadly, Sancho hasn’t contributed nearly enough in more than two years at United and now finds himself completely frozen out under Erik ten Hag.

Jadon Sancho holding onto Manchester United future

Sancho’s exile has been well-documented at this point, all sparked by his absence against Arsenal in September.

The winger was left out with Ten Hag citing training performances as the reason – something Sancho didn’t like.

There has been no resolution between Sancho and Ten Hag nearly two months on, suggesting that a parting of the ways is likely.

However, the London Evening Standard claim that Sancho only wants a loan move because he still thinks he can save his United career.

Sancho allegedly believes that Ten Hag could be replaced in the near future due to United’s poor form and that could give him a new lease of life under another manager.

We can’t see United ditching Erik ten Hag

Sancho may well think that there could be a change in the pipeline, but we would be stunned to see a departure any time soon.

Yes, United’s season has been bitterly disappointing so far, both in the Premier League and in Europe.

Ten Hag knows that the results just aren’t good enough and he certainly needs a few more wins to completely secure his job.

Yet it seems like the Glazer family – and Sir Jim Ratcliffe – have no plans to make a change any time soon.

The Telegraph note that Ratcliffe and Ineos admire Ten Hag, so their expected arrival shouldn’t spark major changes.

There seems to be an acceptance that the problems this season go way beyond Ten Hag, with off-field distractions piling up.

Add in a ridiculous number of injuries and Ten Hag doesn’t appear to be in any immediate danger of the sack.

We can’t guarantee Ten Hag’s job at United but if Sancho is waiting for him to go in order to kickstart his United career, we think he might be waiting a while yet – and he may need to give serious thought to a permanent exit.
