Manchester United added a new midfielder on transfer deadline day but there will surely be more changes to come in the near future.
Erik ten Hag saw Kobbie Mainoo become a key man for Manchester United last season but the youngster needs help around him.
Manuel Ugarte joined United on deadline day and will hopefully make a big impact after at tough first Premier League start against Tottenham Hotspur.
More changes in midfield are surely coming though with Christian Eriksen likely to leave when his contract ends next summer.
Casemiro is wanted in Saudi Arabia with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr understood to be interested in the midfielder.
Offloading two experienced midfielders would leave United with a couple of holes to fill though and Bruno Fernandes may have a target in mind.

Serie A star on Bruno Fernandes
Ferandnes may be United’s captain but he is unlikely to have a huge say on potential signings down the line.
If he did though, Fernandes may well want United to sign Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski.
Zielinski and Fernandes played together at Udinese before going their separate ways.
Fernandes became a star for Sporting and then United whilst Zielinski thrived with Napoli, becoming one of the more underrated midfielders in Europe.
Zielinski swapped Naples for Milan over the summer and locked horns with Feranndes as Poland lost 3-1 to Portugal on Saturday.
Zielinski scored for Poland and has now commented on Fernandes – and how the United captain wanted him to join forces again at Old Trafford.
As quoted by Flashscore, Zielinski told Foot Truck that Fernandes was trying to push a move to United.
Zielinski added that the pair remain strong friends and still speak regularly after striking up a strong partnership at Udinese.
“At one point Bruno Fernandes wanted me to join Manchester United,” said Zielinski.
“We are still in touch, we talk very regularly. We played together at Udinese and in one of those matches we practically single-handedly beat AC Milan,” he added.
Bruno Fernandes on Piotr Zielinski
Fernandes only actually played three first-team games with Zielinski at Udinese, but they featured together in the Under-19 ranks too.
It’s 10 years since the pair played together but they clearly still have a great bond.
As quoted by Meczyki in 2021, Fernandes praised Zielinski for being ‘better trained technically’ and for blossoming out from being a shy player.
Fernandes highlighted their strong relationship and their continued contact many years after going their separate ways.
“We had a good relationship. He’s a great guy, I like him a lot. We’re in touch all the time,” said Fernandes.
“Honestly? Zielinski is better trained technically than me. We had a close rivalry. In the past, Zielinski was a bit shy, he was a young guy then, just like me, he blossomed,” he added.
Zielinski only joined Inter this past summer and is 30 now, so it’s difficult to imagine United splashing the cash on him.
If there was any interest from United though, Fernandes would certainly back a move.
