Still, it’s no secret that Tchouameni might not be part of Mourinho’s plans at Real Madrid.
According to The Athletic, Madrid and Mourinho agreed they would listen to offers for Eduardo Camavinga, who has also been linked to Old Trafford.
It is understood that the 23-year-old is refusing to leave, with those close to Camavinga stressing that a departure is “impossible”.
The report then claims Camavinga’s stance on a potential exit has led to a situation where offers for Tchouameni would be considered.
If United needed an invite to bid for the 26-year-old midfielder, this was it, especially with Tottenham pushing to sign Fernandes from West Ham by offering him more money than the Reds.
Moreover, it is noted that Federico Valverde, who fell out with Tchouameni after a dressing-room clash in May, is not on the market.
