Manchester United are on the verge of signing Watford youngster Harry Amass.
The Evening Standard report Amass is in ‘advanced talks’ with Manchester United, who are set to beat Chelsea to his signature.
Amass, 16, plays as a left-back for Watford’s academy and has featured in the FA Youth Cup for the Hornets this season.
The young defender is an England youth international who has featured in under-15s and under-16s squads.

Manchester United set to sign Harry Amass
Harry Amass is so highly rated at Watford that he made the first team bench for their FA Cup match with Reading in January, when he was just 15.
Current Manchester United star Jadon Sancho previously played for Watford’s academy, before switching to Manchester City and then Borussia Dortmund.
Amass would be taking a more direct route to Manchester United and is said to believe that joining the Red Devils will accelerate his development.
Targeting young English players has been of increased importance to Manchester United’s academy strategy since Brexit, which prevents deals for non-UK players under 18.
Last season United moved to sign Toby Collyer from Brighton and Elyh Harrison from Stevenage.
United recently signed strikers Gabriele Biancheri from Cardiff and Louie Bradbury from Shrewsbury Town.
Amass, who turned 16 earlier in March, would go into Manchester United’s under-18s squad for 2023/24.
