Manchester United have just seen a bid for Leny Yoro accepted according to reports from France, here’s the latest.

The search for a central defender is heating up at Old Trafford and now a bid has been accepted for the French prodigy, Leny Yoro.

This comes as Manchester United nears completion of a deal for Matthijs de Ligt and sees another bid for Jarrad Branthwaite rejected by Everton.

Yoro has long been a target for United, however, there are roadblocks in the form of his desire to join Real Madrid.

Here is all the latest in the story emerging from France regarding Yoro and a successful bid from United.

Manchester United make new Leny Yoro bid

Hours after a reported bid for Branthwaite was rejected, United have now had another accepted for a different target.

It comes according to various French journalists with L’Equipe’s Nabil Djellit claiming that United had made a written offer for Yoro worth £42.2 million plus bonuses after Rio Ferdinand admitted he’d love him to join United.

This offer was accepted by Lille according to the journalist as it by far outweighed the offers Real Madrid has been making. The player does prefer Madrid, but if that move doesn’t transpire it’s yet to be seen if he will opt for United.

Adding to this, Santi Aouna revealed Madrid has only offered around £16.8m to sign the player tipped as having the potential to be “one of the best” defenders. This is significantly less than United’s by £25.4m.

But he also affirms the player will wait for Madrid with an agreement already in place.

Yoro to Madrid always seemed nailed on, but surely Lille aren’t going to accept such a minuscule offer when a far larger one is on the table.

This story has also been supported by Fabrizio Romano who has emphasised that United aren’t favourites and Madrid are relaxed about the situation. Madrid are still expected to complete the signing this summer on their conditions.

English media provides Leny Yoro update

After the claims made by the French press, now Chris Wheeler from the Daily Mail has shared an update after he asked the club for some insight.

He tweeted, revealing that United aren’t commenting on the situation right now, which could mean a variety of things given if it was false there’d have surely been a denial.

He added that Yoro does prefer a move to Madrid over United. Ineos are in the running for several centre-backs and this move would make sense given the rejection by Everton for Branthwaite so it could be Yoro is the next offer.

If United sign Yoro, it’d be quite a coup, especially with Real Madrid’s interest.

Whether this materialises into a signing, we must wait and see, but to see reports of bids flying in for talented players is never a bad thing.
