Erik ten Hag now has a big decision to make. He’s narrowed the replacement centre-back for Harry Maguire down to two options.
Harry Maguire looks finally set to leave Manchester United. West Ham have agreed a £30m fee with United for the 30-year-old, which means we finally wave goodbye to our former captain.
This means United are now in the market for a new centre-half. The Daily Mail reported there was a four-man shortlist, but Fabrizio Romano has suggested that this has now dwindled to just two.
They include a World Cup winner and ex-Barcelona ace…

Erik ten Hag faced with a big decision – Pavard or Todibo?
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Erik ten Hag will now make a decision as to whether he will sign Jean-Clair Todibo or Benjamin Pavard.
The initial four-man shortlist also included Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi and Edmond Tapsoba. Guehi appears to be now out of the picture, but Tapsoba is still considered a backup.
Pavard may be the player that openly wants United more with Romano stating that he is open to leaving Bayern this summer and keen on Manchester United move. He’d love to join the club and try the ‘Premier League experience’.

But would he be the better option?
Benjamin Pavard or Jean-Clair Todibo?
To us, this is evidently a no-brainer. Whilst Pavard would bring a wealth of experience and the ability to also play in the right-back role, we can’t help but think Todibo is the supremely better option.
Pavard’s great for the short term, but we’re ideally looking for a Raphael Varane successor and Todibo could be just that. He’s fast, tall and just 23 years old.
Todibo is a worthy investment not just for now – but for the future of the club. He’d definitely be our choice.
