Three-year plans are being made for Ruben Amorim, but Ineos need to plan that far ahead as well, and one teenage wonderkid could be an unexpected part of it.

Ineos’ aggressive youth recruitment drive is yet to pay dividends, especially with no European football hurting the players’ chances of a breakout this season.

However, the planning never stops, and that was evident in the summer as well when Diego Leon joined to bolster the present and, hopefully, future ranks.

Fabrizio Romano has now shared the latest on another teenage wonderkid on trial at Carrington who has already made a ‘very positive impact’.

Man Utd-Mouhamed Dabo latest

Mouhamed Dabo, the captain of Senegal U17s, has been making waves with his all-action style of play in midfield.

Dabo has been on trial at Man Utd for the last month or so, and the club are yet to formalise any agreement with the player or the club.

At 17, he will join a burgeoning ranks of exciting midfielders at the club, with Sekou Kone already here and Cristian Orozco joining soon.

Romano has now shared on X that Dabo has made a ‘very positive impact’ at Old Trafford, but the club are not proceeding with anything formal for now due to ‘regulations’ and ‘relationship with his current club’.

No timeline has been given for when the formal steps will be activated, but it is worth noting that Dabo won’t be able to join United officially until he’s 18 anyway due to Brexit regulations.

Dabo is a part of Man Utd’s long-term vision

Since Dabo has impressed people at United, it seems a matter of when, and not if, he joins the club permanently.

Getting the player on trial while he can’t join officially is a good way to adhere to the regulations, and he will also be able to play for the youth sides.

Once he’s 18, United will be able to proceed with the formal steps, safe in the knowledge that they have a leg up on their competitors due to having him up close at the club for a while.

If he turns into a capable first-team contributor, it will be a fantastic endorsement of United’s long-term vision because of the way they have gone about it.
