Fabrizio Romano says Manchester United starlet will officially seal move to Prem rival ‘today’

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Harrison Parker will leave Manchester United for Premier League rivals Manchester City today with the youngster’s Old Trafford exit set to be ‘formally completed’.

Two months to the day since Manchester United snapped up the twin sons of Darren Fletcher – Jack and Tyler – in a £1.25 million double-deal from their blue-clad neighbours, City will respond by snatching one of the most exciting up-and-comers in the Red Devils’ own academy.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Pep Guardiola’s reigning Premier League champions will ‘formally complete’ the signings of both Harrison Parker and West Ham’s Divine Mukasa on Friday.

Harrison Parker swaps Man United for Man City

Parker, per Transfermarkt, has already featured for Man City’s U18 side. That he should be officially unveiled as a City player today, then, probably has something to do with the fact that turns 17th on September 22nd

Parker, a talented centre-half, joined Man United’s academy from Arsenal back in 2021. As such, the Englishman will represent three of the biggest clubs in the country before even turning a professional, Man City’s academy enjoying renewed investment and reputation during the Guardiola era.

The likes of Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and co all rose through the ranks at City. And, such is their reputation for developing dazzling young talent, even those who did not make the grade at the Etihad have been sold on for colossal fees, City making over £80 million via the sales of Palmer, Shea Charles, Carlos Forbs Borges and James Trafford during the summer transfer window.

Even if Parker does not force his way into Guardiola’s first-team picture, do not be surprised to see the towering defender leave for an eight-figure sum later down the line.

Another youngster leaves Manchester United

Manchester United, in contrast, have come in for criticism in some quarters after selling their own baby-faced prospects for mere pennies, Noam Emeran, Matej Kovar, Anthony Elanga, Teden Mengi and Zidane Iqbal all departing for relatively low-ball sums.
