Donny van de Beek is set to leave Manchester United in January on loan.

Yesterday, it was apparent that the Dutch midfielder passed his Eintracht Frankfurt medical, with just the final details remaining before the deal could be announced. It looked to be a loan, with the option to buy for around £8 million.

The Dutch midfielder joined the Red Devils back in September 2020, with high hopes for the once Ballon d’Or nominee.

Three years on, it appears we’ll be waving goodbye to him on loan in Germany, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the deal and giving more details.

Donny van de Beek to Frankfurt

Taking to X, Fabrizio Romano reported the following, giving an exclusive confirmed story on the 26-year-old. It read:

Donny van de Beek deal, completed between all parties involved. Documents being exchanged after the player completed medical tests in Frankfurt. Donny will be Eintracht player on loan from Man United starting from January 1. Exclusive story, confirmed.’

This really does look to be the end for van de Beek at Manchester United.

Could van de Beek make a Manchester United return?

There is a chance that Frankfurt will not exercise the deal to sign the Dutch midfielder permanently, meaning he’d be back at Old Trafford. However, we can’t see him sticking around for long if this is the case.

After scoring on his debut, van de Beek has only made 62 appearances for the Red Devils and only scored one more goal.

It was simply never meant to be for him. If he does return, he may be a player that just simply gets released.

We wish Donny all the best in the Bundesliga.
