Donny van de Beek’s move to Eintracht Frankfurt is set to be finalised this week, according to reports.
Manchester United are set to lose Donny van de Beek who joined the Red Devils from Erik ten Hag’s Ajax but the Dutchman has not had the best of times at Old Trafford.
After scoring on his debut under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, van de Beek was limited to substitute appearances for the Red Devils as he made 19 appearances in the Premier League, with just four starts in England’s top division.
Van de Beek had a loan spell at Frank Lampard’s Everton but it was hardly a fruitful venture and he has been in and out of Ten Hag’s matchday squad ever since.

Move edging closer
According to a post on X from German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the Dutch midfielder has passed his Eintracht medical with just the final details remaining before the deal can be announced.
That announcement, however, is pencilled in for this week according to the German journalist. The deal itself will be a loan with an option to buy, with that fee being, if the German side chooses to take it up, being £8 million.
United signed van de Beek for £35 million and will struggle to even make a third of that fee if the German side chooses to take up the option to purchase the Dutch midfielder permanently.
Van de Beek has made 62 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League side, managing two goals and two assists in the process.

Time was right to leave
When Ten Hag came into Old Trafford nearly 18 months ago, some believed that the 53-year-old would hand the midfielder ample chances to impress.
This, however, never happened and the 26-year-old has been limited to being on the bench for the Red Devils. He did start against Bournemouth in the Premier League last season but suffered a serious injury which kept him out for the remainder of the 2022/2023 season.
Van de Beek’s move to Old Trafford never worked out and the midfielder will be heading out on loan for the second time. Both club and player will be hoping this is the last time they cross paths.
