Derby County are keen on former Manchester United midfielder Charlie Savage, who is currently at Reading, according to reports.
Manchester United allowed academy midfielder Charlie Savage to leave the club this past summer. He had made his debut in the Champions League against BSC Young Boys in the group stage in December 2021.
He joined Reading on a permanent basis at the start of this season and is now being chased by rival League One side Derby, who are chasing promotion back into the Championship.
He was perhaps a tad unfortunate to leave the club as he never really got the proper chance to shine for the Red Devils before he was allowed to leave Old Trafford.

Derby’s interest
The Rams are believed to be interested in the Welsh midfielder according to the Daily Mail and have already seen an approach for Savage rejected by The Royals, but this hasn’t deterred Derby as of yet.
Savage is already a full Wales international, making his international debut against Gibraltar in October last year.
His Manchester United debut in the Champions League was a special moment for the Savage family as his father Robbie was on commentary for TNT Sports and was able to react to the moment live.
Wales boss Rob Page revealed to The Mirror that Savage had to leave United back in the summer due to the midfielder’s lack of playing time at Old Trafford beginning to hinder his chances of selection for the national team.
Savage’s future
It is unclear whether the Welsh midfielder would be keen on moving to the East Midlands side as he has started 23 games in League One for the Royals but Derby are looking for promotion to the Championship.
Despite how hard done by he may have felt about leaving Old Trafford, this was ultimately the right decision as it paved the way for Kobbie Mainoo to be involved in the first team.
The 18-year-old midfielder has been a revelation for the Red Devils and who knows how many games Mainoo would have played had Savage remained at the club.
