Manchester United are looking to sign midfielder Sofyan Amrabat to add depth and strength to the midfield.

The one striking aspect to this season so far has been how overworked Casemiro has been in Manchester United’s midfield. And without him, it would be a lot worse. Let’s hope he doesn’t get suspended any time soon.

Manchester United are finally looking to address this by signing Sofyan Amrabat instead.

Alfredo Pedulla says Amrabat is desperate to clinch his move to United, having ‘total agreement’ with the club, just needing the two teams to reach an agreement.

Amrabat to Manchester United requirements

Fabrizio Romano reported last night that Manchester United were set to hold a fresh round of talks with Fiorentina.

Manchester United wish to sign Amrabat on loan, however, Fiorentina want a fee. Earlier today a report from 90Min claimed the Serie A side will sanction a deal, if there is a fixed obligation to buy.

United’s ability to spend has been limited by Financial Fair Play restrictions and difficulty selling players.

Double deal moves United closer

Manchester United have freed up extra funds which will help in terms of freeing up cash to spend next year, and also help with a loan fee to pay right now.

This has been achieved by selling Dean Henderson to Crystal Palace for the best part of £20 million. Only £4.3 million will be spent on replacement Altay Bayindir. Henderson’s move was announced last night.

A secondary aspect is the move for Sergio Reguilon on loan. The Athletic report this is cheaper than signing Marc Cucurella.

Not only is Reguilon on cheaper wages, Chelsea were demanding a £7 million loan fee for Cucurella, and wanted his wages paid all season. United have a break clause in Janaury in the Reguilon deal, Fabrizio Romano reports.

These moves will have eased United’s financial situation a little, to surely make it easier to come to an agreement with Fiorentina for a deal with an option or obligation to buy, with Fiorentina.

But then, with Manchester United, nothing is ever simple.
