Boniface targeted as Muani replacement
German newspaper Frankfurter Rundschau claims Eintracht Frankfurt are eyeing a move for 22-year-old Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.
Boniface scored 22 goals last season for Royal Union Saint Gulloise, and finished as the joint Europa League top scorer with Marcus Rashford with six.
He did only score seven goals in 31 Jupiler Pro League games though, so there isn’t enough there to suggest Manchester United should skip Muani and target him as a cheaper option instead.
Muani struck 23 goals and provided a further 12 assists, impressing during his first season in the Bundesliga.
ESPN has reported Frankfurt are looking for upwards of £80 million for Muani, who they only signed a season ago from Nantes.
Muani is currently on international duty with France, with upcoming games against Gibraltar and Greece.
The 24-year-old is one of a number of options being considered by United, amid a need to strengthen in attack due to a lack of options.
