Manchester United transfer target Serhou Guirassy scored his 18th goal of the season last night for Eintracht Frankfurt.

The story of the Bundesliga season so far has been Serhou Guirassy‘s unstoppable form.

The 27-year-old striker has scored 19 goals in all competitions from just 16 matches. The most recent came last night in a 3-0 win over Augsburg.

17 of his goals have come in the Bundesliga, and his form and availability has attracted the interest of striker-needy Manchester United.

Guirassy release clause

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported that Guirassy can leave Stuttgart for around €20million (£17million) due to a release clause that is active in January.

Manchester United have shown interest, with Christian Falk telling Caught Offside that the striker wants to move to the Premier League and the Red Devils are considered among the favourites for his signature.

A striker is a priority position for Manchester United to relieve pressure on Rasmus Hojlund, who is on a tough streak in front of goal, yet to score in any competition since November 9, and not once in the Premier League this season so far.

Guirassy on the other hand is on the hottest streak of his career, and could be an ideal option to sign in January and hit the ground running, and make Manchester United’s attack a lot more dangerous.

Stuttgart looking at replacements for Guirassy

Stuttgart are already looking at replacements for Guirassy, accepting that the striker’s impressive form and cheap release clause makes it likely he leaves in the January transfer window.

German outlet 90Plus reports they have identified Braga’s Simon Banza, and Torino’s Antonio Sanabria as potential replacements.

Manchester United may be smoothing relations too, by agreeing a deal to loan Donny van de Beek to Frankfurt.

Van de Beek completed his medical with the German club yesterday and the deal includes conditions for the move to be made permanent at the end of the season.
