Do you want Carlos Baleba at Manchester United? Then you may be intrigued by his latest social media post.
When the transfer window reached August last year, Manchester United’s stance on midfielders became ‘Carlos Baleba or nothing’.
After Brighton made it clear that Carlos Baleba was not for sale, United settled with ‘nothing’.
This summer with Casemiro’s contract expiring, United have to get a deal done for at least on midfielder, possibly two or three.
What is unclear is where Baleba fits in, after a difficult season for Brighton. But he has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.
At the weekend he helped Brighton ease to a 3-0 win over Wolves, but it was what he said afterwards that caught the eye.

Carlos Baleba’s post
Carlos Baleba posted on Instagram after Brighton’s win. And his choice of words was interesting.
He wrote: “It’s better that it takes longer than it never happening”.
Baleba’s post was taken as a hint that he could land his move to United in 2026, rather than getting it in 2025.
The responses to his messages drew that inference.
One fan wrote: “Pls come to Manchester,” while another added, “We are waiting for you at United bro”.
“Do you mean the United move?🥱”, another fan asked.
One aspect of the Baleba transfer saga last summer that stood out was the midfielder’s desire to move to United.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently claimed that Baleba agreed personal terms with United last summer, and his demands have not changed.

CAN he handle the PRESSURE of playing at Old Trafford after he hasn't coped with the links well?🤔
Champions League complication
Brighton are not likely to give Carlos Baleba away cheaply. Even though he his form has been mixed this season, the Cameroon international has earned his place back in the team and is still a regular starter.
And now there is a possibility that Brighton finish in the Champions League places.
If Aston Villa win the Europa League and finish in the top five, then the sixth place team in the Premier League will also gain entry.
Brighton are currently seventh, two points behind sixth place Bournemouth with a game to go.
If the Seagulls did land a Champions League spot, then that would strengthen them financially and make them even more resistant to selling Baleba.
Manchester United face Brighton and Baleba on the final fixture of the Premier League season.
