Manchester United will be in the market for attacking signings this summer with one target now expected to move on.
Manchester United switched to a new 3-4-2-1 approach after hiring Ruben Amorim and it’s fair to say that attacking play hasn’t quite impressed under him yet.
Amorim prefers Joshua Zirkzee as a number 10, Rasmus Hojlund’s goal drought has reached 18 games and Alejandro Garnacho provides excitement but wayward end product.
Numbers are needed in attack with Marcus Rashford and Antony unlikely to return to Old Trafford this summer.
Strikers, wide forwards and number 10’s will be on United’s wish list with Ineos potentially needing to splash some big money on new signings.

Jamie Gittens transfer latest amid Manchester United interest
One name on the United radar is currently shining in the Bundesliga.
Reports in January suggested that United are seriously interested in Jamie Gittens as he shows huge potential with Borussia Dortmund.
The 20-year-old has hit 11 goals and four assists in 37 games across all competitions this season, playing predominantly as a left-sided winger.
Gittens has been hailed as ‘incredible’ for his dribbling ability by former Dortmund boss Nuri Sahin on the Bundesliga official website.
A return to England could be on the cards for the former Manchester City talent and Sky Germany report that Dortmund are now preparing for Gittens to leave.
It’s stated that United are rivalling Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur for Gittens, but also Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
There is no offer on the table just yet but Dortmund thoroughly expect Gittens to move on in a big-money deal.
Dortmund are in danger of missing out on European football for next season and would need to sell Gittens if so.
The current asking price is €100million (£83million), but Bayern are ready to test the water with around €60million to €70million (£50million to £58million).
United almost certainly can’t afford to pay £83million for Gittens but a cheaper deal for the Englishman could be of real interest inside Old Trafford.
Manchester United fans may fear Borussia Dortmund swoop
Gittens is a huge talent and whilst there would be questions about him playing in a narrow role under Amorim, he has flirted with that role at times in Germany.
A deal would be exciting this summer but some United fans will have fear about signing another player from Dortmund.
Shinji Kagawa failed to really justify his 2012 move to Old Trafford and quickly returned to Dortmund.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was exceptional for Dortmund but never really replicated that form in a United shirt.
The easiest parallel with Gittens is towards Jadon Sancho; a winger born in the south of England who blossomed at Dortmund after a spell in the Manchester City ranks.
United splashed big money on Sancho in 2021 but he will sadly go down as a major waste of money.
Going back to sign another Dortmund player may be a concern for some fans, but United may well feel that Gittens can be the exception as Dortmund prepare for his exit.
