Manchester United look set to have a busy end to their summer transfer window with strong links to Marc Cucurella of Chelsea and there seems to be progress on that front.
It now seems a loan move for Cucurella may well be the next signing through the door at Old Trafford with Spanish reports claiming that an agreement on a loan deal is close.
According to Marca, the two English sides are close to reaching an agreement for the former Brighton left-back to make a move to Old Trafford.
United are in dire need of left-back cover due to Luke Shaw suffering a muscle injury which seemingly is a serious one, serious enough for the Red Devils to sign cover in Shaw’s position.

What does the report say
The report from Marca says that an agreement could well be reached today for the former Getafe left-back to make a move to Erik ten Hag’s side.
The loan fee for the left-back will be £3 million which, surprisingly, may well be a decent fee and United would be wise to include an option to buy the defender in case he excels at Old Trafford.
Despite Sergio Reguilon and Marcos Alonso being options for United according to the Spanish report, Cucurella was the overwhelming first choice for the Red Devils.
Could the deal be permanent
There is no mention in the report of there being an option to buy the 25-year-old.
MORE UNITED STORIES
However, the question that will arise if Cucurella is successful at Old Trafford is can the deal be made permanent.
Whether United would want the deal to be permanent remains to be seen.
It would perhaps be a sad indictment on Tyrell Malacia’s time at Old Trafford if the deal was made permanent.
For the £3 million loan fee, United have done well, if the report is true.
There is a risk surrounding the signing of the Spaniard but United need cover and Cucurella certainly could be a good option going forward for the Red Devils.
