Manchester United are being linked with Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni and his idol used to play at Old Trafford.
It is no secret that Manchester United are planning a midfield overhaul and the latest transfer story is regarding interest in Aurelien Tchouameni.
Tchouameni looks up to Casemiro and now he has the opportunity to be his long-term successor at Old Trafford by making a move to Manchester this summer.
But Casemiro is not Aurelien Tchouameni’s only midfield idol – he also shares a close bond with former Red Devils star Paul Pogba.

Aurelien Tchouameni sees Paul Pogba as a ‘big brother’
Back in 2021, Pogba was still playing for United and Tchouameni was bursting onto the scene with Monaco.
When he was first called up for the France national team, Tchouameni spoke highly of the role that Pogba played as his mentor.
As quoted by OneFootball, Tchouameni said: “He [Pogba] had the role of a big brother.
“He pushed me to let go, to play with confidence and to show my qualities. After that, there you have it, I will have to play well to be part of the continuity in this group.”
Where did it all go wrong for Paul Pogba at Manchester United?
Aurelien Tchouameni can outshine Paul Pogba’s Man Utd legacy
Pogba remains United’s biggest transfer fee following on from his £89m return back in 2016.
But while the French midfielder did have glimpses of brilliance during his second stint at United, he is mostly remembered as a player who didn’t live up to his full potential.
As 26 years old, Tchouameni is about to enter his prime years, and he has the option of spending them at Old Trafford – just as Pogba did.

He can be at the heart of United’s midfield rebuild, and a pivotal piece of Ineos’ plan to win the Premier League by 2028.
If Tchouameni does help to bring the Premier League back to Old Trafford, he would easily eclipse the legacy left by Pogba.
