Manchester United have been linked with a move to sign Antoine Semenyo in 2026, with the Bournemouth star an ideal addition.

Links to Antoine Semenyo are not new for Manchester United, with the 26-year-old up alongside Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha as elite Premier League players.

United were linked to Semenyo last season before he signed a new contract at the Cherries, much to the rest of the Premier League’s annoyance.

But after the Ghana international kicked on this season, United’s interest in signing Semenyo has continued.

Antoine Semenyo reveals Andoni Iraola’s one big demand from Bournemouth players

Semenyo has only been bettered by Erling Haaland for goals this season in the league, showcasing exactly why United, alongside other clubs, are so keen.

However, Semenyo is more than just a goal scorer, having the physical and athletic qualities that Amorim demands from his team.

Speaking to Jamie Redknapp, Semenyo revealed what Andoni Iraola asks of his team, and it perfectly fits Amorim.

“Run. Just run. Run yourself into the ground”, Semenyo explained when asked about Iraola’s demands on Sky Sports.

“We have such a full team, everyone has their talents. But if you’re tired at 60, you’ve worked hard for 60, that’s all that he can ask. Run yourself into the ground and I give props to everyone because it’s not easy to do, but we do it week in, week out.”

Famously, last season, Amorim demanded his players run like “mad dogs” and Semenyo would join Cunha and Mbeumo in fulfilling that desire.

Where does Antoine Semenyo fit in for Manchester United?

This season, Semenyo has been tearing the Premier League apart as a winger for Bournemouth, but under Amorim, he would change position.

With Cunha in the left-10, Semenyo would likely be the perfect left wing-back, with the attacking quality Diogo Dalot lacks and the work rate to get back, similar to Amad on the right.

Semenyo has been used as a wing-back at Bournemouth, which showcases his versatility and explains why he is being eyed up as the ideal option.

If United makes this move happen, it would be a massive coup, and it would give Amorim a front five of Semenyo, Cunha, Mbeumo, and Amad with Benjamin Sesko up front.

This, along with a new midfield, is Premier League title material.
