Ajax could unlock Marcus Rashford transfer as Hansi Flick makes decision on Man Utd forward

Manchester United are at the centre of the most discussed transfer of the January window. Marcus Rashford could leave the Red Devils after being frozen out by Ruben Amorim.

The Red Devils need to get rid of at least one high-profile player, and despite Alejandro Garnacho being a target for Chelsea, it appears Rashford is Amroim’s preferred choice to leave.

Amorim has publicly criticised Rashford for a lack of effort. The United manager is showing no signs of backing down either.

Now with less than one week left before the winter window closes, Rashford’s future remains a hot topic.

Marcus Rashford’s dream transfer still possible

Despite the transfer window approaching it’s final few days and Rashford’s future yet to be finalised, there is still hope the 27-year-old can complete his dream move.

Rashford’s preference is to join Barcelona, but the Catalan giants must free up space in their squad before they can pursue United’s number 10.

And although a lot of pieces still need to come together before Rashford can spend the second half of the season in Spain, according to Sport, Hansi Flick really likes the idea of having the English winger among his options.

With Raphinha and Lamine Yamal as his first-choice wingers and Ferran Torres and Ansu Fati among the back-up options, Flick is well-stocked in the wide forward department. However, if the German is to bring Rashford to the Nou Camp, one will need to go.

Ajax’s wanting Ansu Fati could unlock Rashford transfer

Looking to mount a serious title challenge, Ajax are going head-to-head with PSV for the Eredivisie title. The Dutch giants are just four points off top spot with a game-in-hand and want to bolster their forward options before the window closes.

Unable to recall Carlos Forbs from his loan with Wolves after the Old Gold refused to let him return due to their own battles in the league, Ajax, according to AD, have been forced to pursue alternative options.

According to Telegraaf, the Dutch club have turned their attention to Barcelona’s Fati. Getting the 22-year-old to agree to a move may be tricky as his preference appears to be to continue at the Nou Camp.

However, with Flick clearly looking to bring Rashford in his place, the youngster may have little choice but to pursue a move, even a temporary one, elsewhere, or, like Rashford under Amorim, risk being frozen out for the rest of the season.
