Manchester United are in the market for a new left wing back and the top target for Ruben Amorim appears to have emerged.
Sunday’s defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion highlighted some major concerns for Ruben Amorim and Manchester United.
There were signs of optimism after drawing at Liverpool and dumping Arsenal out of the FA Cup.
United were disappointing in a 3-1 win over Southampton though and Sunday’s performance against Brighton just wasn’t good enough.
Amorim has made mistakes but this United side needs major reinforcements, which isn’t easy in January.
Left wing back has to be a top priority for Amorim and United with Diogo Dalot clearly not suited to that role.

Agent posts cheeky Manchester photo
United now appear to be zeroed in on a top target.
Nuno Mendes has been linked with United but a deal for the Paris Saint-Germain ace looks unlikely as things stand.
Reports on Monday morning highlighted that United are now in talks to sign Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
The Danish international has been hailed as an ‘incredible’ talent in Italy and United are now making a move.
Dorgu recently won the Danish Talent of the Year Award, following in the footsteps of United striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Speculation is swirling over Dorgu both in England and Italy, with agent Kingsley Ogbodo stirring the pot.
As noted by Solo Lecce, agent Ogbodo posted a photo to Instagram from Manchester Airport on Monday morning.
Ogbodo added the caption ‘please remember me what time of the year we are in?’, hinting at imminent news or talks around Dorgu.
Italian reporter clears up Patrick Dorgu latest
Ogbodo may have set tongues wagging but the photo isn’t all as it seems.
Sky Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Ogbodo actually resides in Manchester anyway and is actually flying out to Milan rather than arriving in the UK.
Di Marzio adds that Lecce’s transfer chief Pantaleo Corvino will be meeting with Napoli, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus to discuss Dorgu’s future this week.
Ogbodo is therefore on his way to Italy with this week potentially pivotal regarding Dorgu’s future.
Fabrizio Romano adds that United will now send officials to Italy for talks with Lecce this week.
Romano adds that Amorim has personally approved a deal for Dorgu with negotiations now ongoing.
United now face a real battle with Italian clubs for Dorgu but will hope to land one of Europe’s top young left wing backs, securing a major part of the Amorim puzzle for years to come.
