After Vincent Joseph, Man Utd are now looking to swoop for another Liverpool academy player

Manchester United are looking to strengthen the academy this summer, and Liverpool could be the source of two additions.

Despite Manchester United’s academy having a successful season with three finals across the U18 and U21 age groups, the club finished second in all three and also in both leagues.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe criticised the academy last year, and now there seems to be a clear desire to strengthen it this summer.

United have been linked with David Eze, formerly of Manchester City. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s academy is also likely to be part of United’s plans.

Manchester United plot move for Isaac Konde

Ahead of the summer, United are on the cusp of signing Vincent Joseph from Liverpool, with the 16-year-old goal machine set to depart his club as the Red Devils lead the way.

Well, now United are also planning another swoop at Melwood Training Ground, according to The Secret Scout.

The reliable X account has now claimed that United have begun exploring a move to sign Isaac Konde from Liverpool this summer.

Konde is a 16-year-old winger and has emerged as a key target for United this summer.

It is claimed that contact between the two clubs and Konde’s representatives has already taken place. United want the winger alongside Joseph in what could be a transformative summer for Darren Fletcher’s side.

How United’s best U18s line up look with Konde and Vincent Joseph

Manchester United already have a lot of talent in attacking areas of the U18s, both next season and with the likes of Jacie Dore to come through in the next few years.

While Konde and Joseph could be fast-tracked, chances are they will start in the U18s as Chido Obi did.

Konde can play on either wing, while Joseph will become the starting number nine. They will probably then be partnered with JJ Gabriel at times in the 10 between his senior chances, and Kai Rooney or Noah Ajayi, completing the frontline.

This is a really talented group for United to work with, assuming it could then be David Eze in the midfield, with the recruitment being accelerated, probably in an attempt to match how City have built such a stacked academy.

Seeing Ineos look to bolster the academy is so exciting, and this might not be the last of it.
