Bryan Mbeumo situation with returning to Brentford for pre-season explained, potential Man Utd boost

Manchester United remain dead set on signing Bryan Mbeumo this summer, despite clear grievances with the asking price Brentford are demanding.

For over one month now, Manchester United’s entire transfer efforts appear to have been on signing Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.

Ineos have submitted two bids for the Cameroon international, with the second offer from United reaching around £63m, although this wasn’t enough.

Mbeumo sees United as his dream move and remains fully set on joining the Red Devils this summer. If the deal does go through, Mbeumo will become the third Cameroonian to join United; however, no agreement has been reached yet.

United have been handed a boost with Anthony Elanga to Newcastle pocketing the club between £5m and £8m to put toward Mbeumo.

There was hope that the transfer would be done in time for pre-season; however, there is still time before the main portion of preparations begins, likely next week.

Whether Bryan Mbeumo has returned to Brentford for pre-season

Despite no deal yet, Fabrizio Romano spoke on Tuesday morning to reveal that Mbeumo to United remains on the cards with negotiations continuing.

However, with United returning for pre-season, other Premier League clubs are also back, including Brentford.

The Bees returned to training this week under new manager Keith Andrews. However, among the photos, Mbeumo was not spotted in action.

Then, Mbeumo posted on his Instagram story, revealing that he was still in California, USA, and had not returned to England.

It would be strange for the forward not to be in training and could suggest Brentford are accepting that a deal is imminent and have advised him not to return to training.

It could also mean Brentford have given Mbeumo additional time off, with his presence on day one not entirely necessary.

United have also got several names not returning to pre-season, but this is different as Brentford would happily have Mbeumo back.

Bryan Mbeumo growing frustrated over Manchester United move

No matter what this means, United simply have to get a move on with the transfer or risk missing out altogether.

It has been reported by The Standard that Mbeumo and Brentford are both frustrated by United’s slow progress in the transfer market.

Mbeumo’s growing frustration should be concerning to United, as if he decides he is fed up with waiting, there is no guarantee that Spurs won’t swoop in and steal the 20-goal forward.

It is a risky game to let negotiations drag on so long, and United will be aware that the longer they run, the more a deal is likely to cost.

In addition, Mbeumo will be annoyed and won’t be feeling wanted, considering United aren’t willing to pay the couple of million that is the difference in negotiations.
