Manchester United are in the market for a new striker and are weighing up a host of options after missing out on signing Liam Delap.
Manchester United’s need for goals is shaping the early stage of this crucial summer transfer window.
Matheus Cunha has joined United from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo wants a move to Old Trafford.
One blow has already arrived, though, as Liam Delap chose to sign for Chelsea from Ipswich Town.
United were hoping to land Delap after an impressive Premier League campaign for the Tractor Boys.
Delap chose Stamford Bridge, leaving United to weigh up several other strikers from across Europe.

Moise Kean unsure about Manchester United
United have eyed up Viktor Gyokeres and the Sporting man is the name on everybody’s lips right now after his success under Ruben Amorim in Portugal.
The Swede would be a significant signing, but United are also being linked with a surprise move for Fiorentina’s Moise Kean.
Tuttomercatoweb report that United have shown the most interest in signing Kean during this summer transfer window.
However, Kean allegedly finds the move ‘not entirely convincing’, given United’s lack of Champions League football.
Kean is currently leaning towards staying with Fiorentina, but a €52million (£44million) release clause means an exit cannot be ruled out.
That price tag would likely be cheaper than any deal for Gyokeres, but we would prefer to see United focus elsewhere.

Manchester United not missing out on Moise Kean
Former Juventus wonderkid Kean hasn’t quite lived up to his potential across spells with Everton, PSG and a return to Juve.
Now 25, Kean enjoyed a brilliant first season with Fiorentina, smashing 25 goals in 44 games across all competitions.
Kean may finally be putting all of his talent together and becoming a top striker, but some will still be worried about the up-and-down nature of his career.
Kean was only a youngster at Everton and the Premier League was simply too much for him at that time.
14 goals in 102 games for Juventus wasn’t exactly impressive either, with his best seasons coming last term at Fiorentina and on loan at PSG in the 2020-21 campaign.
United need to make the most of limited funds this summer, hence focusing on proven Premier League players such as Cunha and Mbeumo.
Gyokeres hasn’t proven himself in the Premier League, but he is at least a striker Amorim knows very, very well.
Kean impressed this past season, but there will be a fear of a purple patch in a suitably purple Fiorentina shirt.
More goals next season would convince us a little more, and United may keep Kean on the radar for windows to come.
£44million on Kean is the kind of gamble United can’t afford to take this summer, and if there really was any interest in the first place, the Red Devils should move on and focus on other strikers.
