Manchester United seemingly won’t be signing Odysseas Vlachodimos but he may still end up in England with Nottingham Forest.
United are ready to offload another goalkeeper with Dean Henderson on the verge of joining Crystal Palace.
This is another departure from the goalkeeping department at Old Trafford this summer.
Jack Butland left for Rangers at the end of his loan deal whilst David De Gea was released at the end of his contract.
Matej Kovar has been sold on to Bayer Leverkusen and Nathan Bishop joined Sunderland, so it’s been quite the summer of upheaval at United.
Now it’s Henderson’s turn to go and that means a new goalkeeper coming in with United seemingly going for Altay Bayindir over Odysseas Vlachodimos.
Manchester United poised to sign Altay Bayindir
United have been weighing up potential additions to serve as backup to Andre Onana.
Bayindir is set to be the choice with Fabrizio Romano reporting this weekend that the Fenerbahce is in England to finalise his move.
United have agreed a £6million deal with Fenerbahce and the 25-year-old Turkey international is all set to finalise his move.
MORE UNITED STORIES
Benfica stopper Odysseas Vlachodimos was another option though as Romano reported last Sunday night they the Greek goalkeeper was a target.
Vlachodimos has been at odds with Benfica boss Roger Schmidt and was no doubt hoping to secure a big move to United to get out of Benfica.
United have decided that Bayindir is the man though, meaning Vlachodimos can forget about about a late move to Old Trafford.

Vlachodimos could still land Premier League move
The 29-year-old may still end up in the Premier League though, even if United have gone in another direction.
O Jogo in Portugal report that Nottingham Forest want Vlachodimos and are ready to make an offer for the Benfica stopper.
It’s worth noting here that Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is Greek too and the idea of landing Vlachodimos may well appeal.
Forest have brought in one new stopper this summer by signing Matt Turner but had also been looking to bring Dean Henderson back to the club.
Henderson is off to Palace and Forest could now pivot to sign Vlachodimos instead, with the goalkeeping merry-go-round in full swing.
O Jogo’s report even claims that Forest also wanted Bayindir and Dominik Livakovic – the man who has replaced Bayindir at Fenerbahce.
Forest could finally land another goalkeeper in Vlachodimos having remarkably missed out on three other goalkeepers in this heavily United-influenced transfer domino effect.
