The Manchester United winter loan exodus looks set to continue with another about to head to Spain to see out the season.

This winter has already seen several promising young players make their way out of Carrington for a loan move in the hopes of game time.

Hannibal Mejbri has headed to Sevilla in La Liga joining Getafe’s thriving loanee Mason Greenwood in the Spanish division.

Less notably, Dan Gore and Joe Hugill are now getting their chances in the lower English leagues at Port Vale and Burton Albion respectively.

With so many players not getting satisfactory minutes right now within Erik ten Hag‘s Manchester United squad, there were always likely to be further loan departures.

Now, it seems the next one is imminent and could be completed as early as today.

Facundo Pellistri to complete loan move to Granada today

Facundo Pellistri seems likely to be the next departure given his place in Ten Hag’s plans recently and that he’s now seemingly the fourth choice on the right wing.

Yesterday it was suggested that the winger was waiting for the deal to go through with Ten Hag having the final say and now it appears he has.

David Ornstein reported this morning for The Athletic this morning with his update on Pelistri’s situation which he claimed was almost resolved with the 22-year-old Uruguayan set to travel to Spain today ahead of completing a loan to Granada until June.

To support this, Fabrizio Romano has also claimed the deal is imminent following a long spell of negotiations. He even went as far as claiming that the deal could be completed today.

A vital move for the Manchester United man, he needs to play

Pellistri has played a bit part role this season at best, with his more substantial minutes failing to live up to the hype which was placed on him in the preseason.

Due to this, Ten Hag has found alternative options in the form of Alejandro Garnacho and more recently Amad Diallo has also moved ahead of the Uruguay international.

Therefore, he was in desperate need of a loan to move to somewhere he would get minutes under his belt.

Although the loan itself to Granada is a disappointing one, a move within England definitely a better option although interest was only rumoured.

For the winger, he now needs to find his feet quickly and explode in La Liga during the remainder of this season.
