Manchester United target Roony Bardghji has highlighted his lofty ambitions for his career in a recent interview.

The Swedish starlet is tipped as one of the leaders of the next generation in football and Manchester United found out first-hand how excellent he is.

Roony Bardghji was a key factor in putting United’s Champions League campaign to bed this season as he scored the winner in a dramatic 4-3 Copenhagen win back in November.

It was this goal that he announced himself on the European stage with, but he’s been quietly impressing in Denmark all campaign with seven goals in 17 games.

This as expected has shot him to superstardom with half of Europe now chasing his signature according to a recent HITC report. Named among interested parties is United who could end up with the ‘new Rooney’ as he was labelled by The Athletic.

Now the 18-year-old’s true ambitions in football have been revealed and his confidence is akin to that of a young Cristiano Ronaldo.

Roony Bardghji sets ‘best in the world’ target for his career

Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, Bardghji outlined where he sees his career going and he had real lofty ambitions.

“Well, I wish to become the best player in the world,” he began.

“Of course, playing in the biggest leagues, playing for one of the biggest teams… but being the best player in the world. That’s my biggest goal.

“That’s what I’m working towards every day, reaching my goal in five years… If you’re dreaming, dream big.”

These are the ambitions which a United player should have and his mentality is exactly what we need more of. At just 18, securing his signature could leave United with two of the most exciting teenagers in the world, along with Alejandro Garnacho.

United can’t miss out on the next big thing

Sometimes a talent is just too impressive to not sign and for £20m – as per HITC – United have the opportunity to get one of the steals of the decade.

There was a similar situation 20 years ago with Ronaldo after he ran United ragged in a friendly, with the performance being what Roy Keane thinks made the club ‘conclude negotiations’ according to his autobiography.

Now United have a similar chance to sign a cocky young talent who has all the talent in the world to become a world-beater after he showed the club first-hand his talent.
