Bruno Fernandes has been “Mr Reliable” for Man Utd since his arrival, but he has done so while single-handedly carrying the load for the club.
He has been the attack initiator, progressor, final-third creator, and even finisher, all at the same time, or at different times as per the team’s needs.
His numbers, despite such a level of responsibility, are remarkable, but in Tielemans, he finally has the perfect midfield partner behind him.
Fernandes often has to drop deep to help with the buildup, while Ruben Amorim permanently stationed him deep because nobody else could work with the ball.
It led to the player having to bust a gut and attack the box later, or risk having his biggest strength taken away from him, which is chance creation.
Tielemans’ style of play is one of a jack of all trades, but long passing from deep is something he excels at, in particular.
Finally, Fernandes has a ball-carrier (Kobbie Mainoo) and a long-passer (Tielemans) behind him, which means he can camp at the No. 10 position where he plays his best football.

If Fernandes camps at the No. 10 position, and his defensive work is a bonus for the team instead of a necessity, he will be reborn and unleashed.
His ability to pick out a pass is unparalleled in the Premier League, so the closer he is to goal during attacking phases, the more lethal he is.
He no longer has to worry about dropping deep and getting on the ball. The ball will reach him now, courtesy of Tielemans and Mainoo.
He just needs to do what he does best, which is create chances in the final third. The only difference is that he will be of fresher mind and body when he does it.
