Manchester United have played their final home game, so United In Focus takes a look back at the five most memorable wins at Old Trafford this season.
The last match to be held at Old Trafford this season saw Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest 3-2 to secure third place in the Premier League.
Since his appointment in January, Michael Carrick has managed nine matches at Old Trafford. That includes eight wins, zero draws and one defeat.
Without further ado, here are United’s five best wins at Old Trafford this term.

HOW impressed are you by Bruno Fernandes equalling Premier League history!
Can he go on to break the record?🤔
Manchester United 3-2 Liverpool – Premier League
Not only was it great to beat Liverpool, but this win secured Champions League football for United.
Kobbie Mainoo scored a dramatic winner for United after throwing away a two-goal lead following goals from Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko.
United squandered the advantage in the second half when Dominik Szoboszlai and Cody Gakpo got on the scoresheet.
A winner from Mainoo at the edge of the box sealed the win for the Red Devils. It was undoubtedly one of the best days at Old Trafford this season.
Manchester United 3-1 Aston Villa – Premier League
Cunha and Sesko got on the scoresheet in the final 20 minutes, giving United an important win over Aston Villa in the battle for Champions League qualification.
Although it was a game of low quality, it proved crucial as United would eventually go on to seal a spot in the Champions League before Villa.
Bruno Fernandes played a pivotal role in United’s win as he whipped in a stunning cross for Casemiro’s opener.
However, 11 minutes later, Ross Barkley equalised for Villa.
That was before Fernandes set up Cunha to make it 2-1. Then, Sesko made it eight goals in 10 games to set the result in stone.
Manchester United 2-0 Man City – Premier League
Carrick’s first game ended with a 2-0 win over title-chasing Man City. It marked the perfect start for the 44-year-old ahead of a run of results that would bring Champions League football back to Old Trafford.
United ran City ragged as goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu secured three points.
The win lifted United into the Premier League’s top four.
Manchester United 4-2 Brighton – Premier League
Mbeumo scored twice as United survived a late scare from Brighton, as Carrick helped the team secure three consecutive wins for the first time in the season.
It was another win that saw United move into the top four.
Cunha scored his first goal for the club, and Casemiro had an effort deflected into the net.
Manchester United 2-1 Chelsea – Premier League
It started terribly for Chelsea as their goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez, was shown a red card in the fifth minute.
That was before Fernandes gave United the lead.
Casemiro added a second but was also sent off before the half-time whistle. Chelsea pushed on in the second half, and Trevoh Chalobah pulled one back near the end.
