Manchester United have come out of the January transfer window with two signings – Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven.
But with a ludicrous amount of problems surrounding Manchester United this season, will it be enough? Ruben Amorim wanted a striker, but with little to no funds, it was a wish left ungranted by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos.
Alongside the incoming, there were also outgoings. The big news was Marcus Rashford left on loan to Aston Villa, whilst Erik ten Hag signings Tyrell Malacia and Antony also departed Old Trafford on a temporary basis.
So with a rather unconvincing transfer window – how will the rest of the 24/25 campaign pan out? Here, United in Focus makes three bold predictions following the business in January.

Ruben Amorim to leave a press conference
Since joining Manchester United as first-team head coach, Amorim has been nothing but the utmost of professional, but his patience will already be wearing thin.
Unlike in Portugal, part of Amorim’s tasks are to deal with the trials and tribulations that come with the media responsibilities at United.
Amorim has already been made to answer some ludicrous questions, and despite his cool and composed nature, every man has their breaking point.
For this reason, we can see Amorim leaving a press conference at some point, and it will more than likely be justified.
Marcus Rashford to thrive at Aston Villa
Will Rashford sink or swim at Villa? Now that’s the question on everyone’s lips. After a bad time at United in recent seasons, we think Rashford will refind form for the Villans.

Rashford has had issues with both Erik ten Hag and Amorim, but now he finds himself under the simply world-class Unai Emery – renowned for getting the best out of his players.
For this reason, alongside the fact he’s to be deployed in a fabulous attack with the likes of Ollie Watkins, we’d be inclined to believe that the Manchester United academy graduate will thrive in Birmingham.

Ayden Heaven and Chido-Obi become first-team regulars
A positive for United to end with – Chido-Obi and Ayden Heaven will become a staple in the Red Devils’ first-team squad.

Heaven was signed from Arsenal in January and because of Lisandro Martinez’s season-ending injury, may have to step up immediately in the limelight at United.
Similarly, another poached from Arsenal in Chido-Obi may have to do the same thing. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee aren’t firing – so he could be brought into the frame by Amorim.
United have always trusted in youth. These two look like stars and could follow in the footsteps of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho by performing above their ages with the big boys.
