Ruben Amorim has his side progressing in the right direction, however, one issue is now becoming a massive hinderance.
After how atrocious Manchester United looked in the winter months, recent games have been a real encouragement to those who have faith in Ruben Amorim.
The 40-year-old will be quietly pleased with his team and how they have performed during the past five games or so, despite some results being below satisfactory. The squad appear to be settling in, and against both Forest and Man City, United deserved the three points.

The only thing preventing United from kicking on at the moment is finishing by the attackers, which is currently at an all-time low, with blunders in the final third ultimately denying Amorim the praise he deserves for the improvements.
Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles have returned after a brief period of hope after he bagged against Leicester City, and now, following an impressive U21 performance, it is clear that Amorim might have the solution in the ranks waiting for his big chance.

Chido Obi proves himself again far too good for youth football
Having not got a minute against City, Monday night saw Chido Obi back in the U21s, and here, he wasted no time in showcasing why he has been lauded as having world-class potential by Leny Yoro
Obi scored twice against Nottingham Forest on the night, which were his third and fourth U21 goals this season, with that level looking like a walk in the park for the U21 Denmark international.
One of Obi’s goals, in particular, was phenomenal as he jockeyed the defender well to receive a pass before turning to run from the halfway line to the edge of the box, where he beat another defender to then score into the bottom corner with an excellent finish.
This ability to generate a goal from nothing, along with his finishing and general cutting edge in front of the goal. This is something the current United side lacks, and therefore, Amorim simply must give him more opportunity to see if he can effectively implement it at the senior level.
Obi has a ‘healthy arrogance’ as Adam Lawrence put it, and this gives him far more of a natural goalscorer mentality than Hojlund, for example, who even at a youth level had nowhere near the goal record Obi has.
Since his brilliant cameo against Fulham in the cup, Obi hasn’t been given anywhere near the minutes he deserves when Hojlund has been so poor. But that could all be about to change and should, with this performance, showing Amorim what he must do.
Obi must be given a chance over Rasmus Hojlund at Manchester United
With Obi stepping down for minutes and impressing, it will likely only be temporary, as we expect he will step back into the first team this weekend against Newcastle United.

With just seven games remaining this season for Obi to make an impact in the first team, we would like to see him begin to take minutes from Hojlund, especially amid a crucial Europa League tie against Lyon.
Obi has been told by Steffen Hojer he needs minutes at United, in order to be in the squad for this summer’s U21 Euros.
Hojlund will start in Europe, so with that taking priority, giving Obi the start in some meaningless league games could give him the experience to kick on next season.
Chances are, he would also be an improvement up front.
