Tottenham suffered a ‘crisis’ in their last match, so Thomas Frank’s side will also have a point to prove. Spurs did respond with a 4-0 win over Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
During the win, Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven scored a sensational solo effort, dribbling the length of the pitch after winning the ball back on the edge of his own box.

Micky van de Ven has stung Man Utd in the past
Unfortunately, United are all too familiar with Van de Ven’s frightening speed.
Last season, United lost 3-0 to Tottenham under Erik ten Hag, with the opening goal at Old Trafford scored just five minutes into the match.
Van de Ven embarrassed United’s defence with a bursting run where he weaved through several players before delivering a low-driven cross to Brennan Johnson.
Van de Ven also played the full 90 minutes in United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham in Bilbao last season.
The Dutch defender has played four matches against United in all competitions and has never been defeated. He has won three times against the Red Devils, with the other being a 2-2 draw in 2023/24.
Micky van de Ven is faster than all Man United players
During Tottenham’s win at Old Trafford last season, Van de Ven set a top speed of 37.12 km/h – the fastest of any player in the Premier League.
According to Premier League statistics, Van de Ven is the quickest player in the division at the moment, with no United players breaking into the top 10.

In 2025/26, Bryan Mbeumo has recorded a top speed of 36.36 km/h, while Benjamin Sesko’s top speed in the Bundesliga was 35.47 km/h.
In defence, Ruben Amorim has spoken about a lack of pace when playing Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire – the duo could have their hands full managing Tottenham on Saturday evening.
