Leny Yoro did impress in his debut season at Old Trafford in the 2024-25 campaign after Man Utd signed the young Frenchman from Ligue 1 outfit Lille in 2024.
However, the 20-year-old French defender was left vulnerable at times in Amorim’s system this season and did face criticism for his inconsistent United performances.
Carrick’s tactical shift to a four-man backline had seen Yoro drop to the bench for Man Utd’s 2-0 home win over Manchester City and 3-2 away victory over Arsenal.

The United star has not been forgotten by Carrick, whose United coaching staff are only further enhancing Yoro’s overall abilities away from the public spotlight.

Ayden Heaven recently revealed that both he and Yoro are benefiting from their time together working with experienced former Man Utd defender Jonny Evans.
“Yeah, it’s really good,” he said on the Inside Carrington podcast, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“Jonny, especially, he’s been helping me a lot. Me and Leny [Yoro], after some of the sessions, we go to do extras and just work on that, you know, the basics.
“And even between drills, during their sessions, they’re always pulling me to the side and helping me on my positioning. I’ve enjoyed it so far. They’re a big help.”
When Yoro does take to the pitch next time under Carrick, the Red Devils talent might look like a transformed player who has rediscovered his confidence again.
