In another life, Manchester United would have Harry Kane leading the line under Erik ten Hag.

The England captain was heavily rumoured via Sky Sports to move to Old Trafford last summer as Manchester United searched for a goal scorer.

Unfortunately for the Red Devils, Tottenham were unwilling to sell to a Premier League rival – which meant Harry Kane made the switch to Germany for what looks like a steal of £86m.

He’s now, rather unsurprisingly, absolutely tearing it up in the Bundesliga.

Harry Kane electric for Bayern Munich

The Manchester United summer target now has a remarkable 15 goals in 10 league Bundesliga appearances after his third hat-trick since joining Bayern came this weekend in his first Der Klassiker match against Borussia Dortmund.

He scored three against Darmstadt last week, which means Kane now has back-to-back hat-tricks in the German first division.

The devastating finisher has taken absolutely no time to settle at Bayern Munich and further cement his status as one of Europe’s finest forwards. To think what he could’ve achieved at United.

Harry Kane could have been an all-time Manchester United great

Goals have been few and far between for United this season – but this certainly wouldn’t have been the case with Kane.

The former Spurs man just loves finding the back of the net. It’s almost like a sixth sense, and we’re 100% sure that if he were at United this season, they would be in a monumentally better position.

Kane is the type of player who grabs the game by the scruff of the neck and gets goals from nowhere. He scored 280 goals for Tottenham in what was always a rather lacklustre side.

In a team with Bruno Fernandes, the ‘creative machine‘, we can only imagine the amount of goals he would’ve scored.

Should United have gone all in for Harry Kane?

In our opinion, yes – we did not try hard enough to secure the striker’s services.

Don’t get us wrong, we like Rasmus Hojlund, but at the end of the day, he’s still a young lad and shouldn’t be leading the Manchester United front line with the dependency we have on him now.

Kane was the finished article and would have turned United into a top competitor again. It’s a grand shame we missed out on him.
