Manchester United’s summer transfer business plans have seen a shift toward Premier League recruitment.
After years of ignoring domestic recruitment, Ineos are finally signing the best of the rest from the league.
Manchester United have been linked with several of the Premier League’s best players and have already signed one.
United wrapped up the signing of Matheus Cunha this week, paying £62.5m for the Brazilian who arrives as a very exciting addition to the attacking options for Ruben Amorim.
The club will be fully aware of the 26-year-old’s quality from his two impressive campaigns in the Premier League. United saw Cunha’s brilliance first-hand on a number of occasions as well, and he produced magic against the Red Devils.
This was also the case for Bryan Mbeumo, who has impressed against United more than once.

Despite talks beginning to drag, United remain confident about signing Mbeumo, amid claims of Tottenham entering the race after Thomas Frank was appointed.
Mbeumo has faced United eight times for Brentford and scored once and assisted once. The goal came in 2022, when Mbeumo contributed to the 4-0 thumping, which ended Erik ten Hag’s footballing philosophy at United.
Mbeumo’s goal was the fourth, and it saw him embarrass Luke Shaw in the process, beating the left-back for speed and power to make it look easy as he then finished the chance well.
This will be the first time United took note of Mbeumo, and since then, he has only grown further as a player.
He will know exactly how good his potential new teammate is, and since then, Shaw has got worse for United, meaning any battle between the pair these days would end up with an even more dominant Mbeumo win.
Like with Cunha, United will know exactly how good Mbeumo is.
Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United latest
One week ago, United looked on the verge of completing a deal to sign Mbeumo with a first bid rejected and a second imminent. However, since then, things have gone quiet as talks continue.
United’s hesitancy has led to a potential re-emergence of Tottenham, who now have the advantage of Mbeumo’s former manager at Brentford and also offering the Cameroon international a chance to remain in London.
However, now journalist Rudy Galetti has actually claimed that Mbeumo isn’t considering Tottenham right now.
He claims that the forward is fully focused on United, having already given his word. Only if United cannot agree on a fee with Brentford will he begin to consider Tottenham.
United will be desperate to get this deal done, with negotiations lasting over a week already, we cannot imagine Ineos taking much longer, especially when the deal terms have been made clear by Brentford.
