Jonny Evans loves a comeback – and he is set to make another return for the club.
Manchester United fan favourite Jonny Evans is making an emergency return to help Darren Fletcher in the dugout.
Darren Fletcher is Manchester United’s new interim boss, taking over after Ruben Amorim was fired.
No fixed timeframe has been placed on Fletcher’s stint, but he will manage the club this week against Burnley and then against Brighton at the weekend.
United are surrounding the under-18s coach with extra help, bringing in Jonny Evans, reports The Athletic.

Jonny Evans returns
Jonny Evans made his Manchester United debut under Sir Alex Ferguson and played a part in the club’s glory years, before he was sold by Louis van Gaal.
Evans made a stunning return to United under Erik ten Hag in 2023, signing for the club as a free agent, and went on to win the 2024 FA Cup.
He played under Ruben Amorim last season, before retiring from playing last summer.
Evans then started a role as United’s loans manager, before quitting on December 8. He left his role to spend more time with his family.
Now the lure of Manchester United has called again, answering an SOS to join Darren Fletcher in the dugout.
Under-21 boss Travis Binnion is also expected to be involved in the coaching set up.
Fletcher will hold his press conference ahead of the Burnley game at 5pm.
