Manchester United have completed the signing of Manuel Ugarte, and one youngster should be excited.

After a long few months of looking for a new midfielder, finally Manchester United have got a top-tier talent into the club.

Manuel Ugarte was chosen ahead of several other options, with his qualities being seen by Tim Vickery as an ideal fit for United’s midfield.

Ugarte is a massive upgrade on Casemiro on the pitch and off the pitch, he could be an excellent mentor for one United academy graduate.

Now, the 19-year-old wonderkid needs to learn everything he can from the Uruguayan.

Dan Gore can learn from Manuel Ugarte

If Ugarte were to be defined by a few of his qualities, one might think of his tackling, low centre of gravity, passing and footballing IQ.

Interestingly, he shares these traits with one exciting talent within the academy ranks at Carrington, Dan Gore.

Gore has all the qualities needed to be a top-level midfielder and also possesses the feisty defensive nature that Ugarte has, and he loves a tackle – once being likened to Roy Keane.

So with this in mind, Gore could really benefit from paying close attention to Ugarte and learning from him in training once he returns.

Ugarte may be only 23, but he could help United develop an even younger version of himself in Gore – with the academy graduate even being slightly more natural on the ball.

Manchester United’s Gore having a disastrous 2024

With the rise of Kobbie Mainoo and to some extent Toby Collyer, the other talented midfielder named Gore has become a forgotten man at Old Trafford.

Gore was a player Erik ten Hag was quite clearly keeping one eye on last season. Ten Hag handed him a debut in the Carabao Cup and also the Premier League.

However, Gore’s loan in January to Port Vale could not have gone worse as he picked up an injury after his first game and did not feature again.

Things got even worse for Gore earlier this summer when ahead of a pre-season which promised to be key for him, he dislocated his shoulder and has been out since.

He is however due to return very soon, and if he does he will likely be once again given a chance in Ten Hag’s team this season or perhaps sent on loan in January.
