Dan Gore is currently on the cusp of becoming a regular first-team feature at United, now his former coach has shed more light on him.
This season, Erik ten Hag has overseen the addition of a few academy players into the first team. Most notably Hannibal Mejbri and Kobbie Mainoo both have become regulars.
The two aforementioned may be the most obvious examples but Dan Gore is another who has been almost exclusively with the Manchester United first team this campaign.
Making his first appearance of the season in a League Cup cameo against Crystal Palace, Gore looked like a seasoned professional and no doubt will be in line for further appearances this season.
But now his former youth coach at Burnley has shed light on the youngster even comparing him with a United legend.

Dan Gore possesses Roy Keane qualities
Speaking to MEN, Gore’s youth team coach at Burnley, Lewis Craig, explained the qualities the 19-year-old has which set him apart from other youngsters at United.
“He’s captain material I’d say,” Craig said.
“Almost like your old-school Roy Keane type with hard challenges, but he’s got unbelievable quality on the ball because he was a forward in the past as well.”
Craig then continued to suggest other Carrington prospects are lacking in places that Gore isn’t.
“In that Under-21 group at United, there have been the likes of Shola Shoretire and Isak Hasen-Aaroen but it seems like there’s been something missing in them, which doesn’t seem to be the case with Dan.
“If you leave him in an environment long enough he thrives and I think it’s fair to say that Dan wasn’t a Burnley type of player, in the sense that he was probably beyond Burnley in terms of his ability.”
Gore is next in line to follow Kobbie Mainoo
Mainoo returned from injury last month and instantly blew pundits and fans away with his incredible talent.
An absolute natural in midfield, but he’s crying out for a partner who shares similar qualities to him and that could be Gore.
Gore and Mainoo were very successful at youth level and have a set of qualities which compliment each other really well.
The perfect time to try this duo out could be against Wigan on January 8th in the FA Cup, so we will see if this is how it pans out.
