Manchester United will be watching the turmoil at Nottingham Forest with a smile on their faces, considering the weakened position they have with Elliot Anderson.
In typical Evangelos Marinakis fashion, he has sacked a manager out of complete impulse, with Sean Dyche’s contract terminated after Nottingham Forest drew 0-0 with Wolves.
This decision is confusing, and will see the relegation-battling side appoint a fourth manager of the season.
Manchester United will, however, sense an opportunity directly related to the pursuit of Elliot Anderson.

It wasn’t long ago that Dyche claimed he could do well at United, and now he has been sacked by Forest. But the manner in which it was done is concerning.
The announcement came in the middle of the night, but prior to this, it was reported that the Nottingham Forest owner, Marinakis, had entered the dressing room after the game and talked with players, according to talkSPORT, which isn’t an indication of a well-run club.
This summer, regardless of Forest’s Premier League survival, Anderson is going to be one of the most sought-after players, and with the club in such turmoil, there will be a lot of players pondering their future.
If Forest were in the stable European football qualifying position as last season, then Anderson would be a £100m player. But Marinakis has dragged them into the fire, and United will be thinking that either way, Anderson could be a lot cheaper than £100m.
Anderson is the standout midfield option for United, and if he wants the move, he could help United a great deal by recognising the toxic club situation he is currently involved in and requesting a transfer.
This would be beneficial to United, considering how difficult Forest have been to deal with in recent years, and it could be possible now, all thanks to Marinakis and his mismanagement of the club.

Anderson has long been touted as a £100m midfielder, a figure that Forest would no doubt love to receive for their midfielder.

However, Forest are currently in a relegation scrap and are just three points from safety ahead of an in-form West Ham side, who look to be getting better.
Dyche was on track to keep Forest up, but there is no guarantee that whoever is appointed will achieve that, considering there are just 12 games remaining this season.
So if Forest goes down, chances are they will have a fire sale, and Anderson could therefore become available for a massively lower fee, potentially even as low as around the £50m mark.
Therefore, United won’t mind Forest’s turmoil at all.
